Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Located across Lake Buena Vista from the Downtown Disney® Area, this Disney Deluxe Villa Resort evokes upstate New York country retreats of the late 1800s. A captivating pastel palette of green, orange, and buttercup yellow buildings are spread over 65 acres, and now that construction is complete, it really is a lovely property. The Lake Buena Vista Golf Course meanders through the resort, and the grounds are nicely landscaped with romantic, moss-dripping Spanish oaks and masses of flowering shrubs. Check-in is at the octagonal Carriage House, and just outside is the High Rock Spring pool surrounded by the spa and fitness center, a counter-service dining facility, the Artist’s Palette, and a comfortable lounge and restaurant called the Turf Club Bar and Grill.
552 units. 1960 Broadway, Lake Buena Vista 32830; phone (407) 827–1100, fax (407) 827–1151. Check-in 4:00 p.m.; Check-out 11:00 a.m.
Accommodations
Villa choices come in studios as well as one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, each with a nice balcony or patio. Soft mossy green and yellow fabrics intermingle with warm wood furniture, and fun photos of Saratoga decorate the soft pastel walls. Kitchens come with green granite countertops, and bathrooms have tile flooring in shades of soft green and yellow. Bedrooms feature two-poster headboards and lovely spreads with a yellow, coral, and green floral motif. Views are of either the gardens, golf course, one of the quiet pools, the resort’s waterways, or Lake Buena Vista; unfortunately, there’s one other category of units in the Paddock area and Springs that face Buena Vista Drive.
Studio
The 355-square-foot Studios sleep a maximum of four people plus one child under the age of three and include a queen bed, double sleeper sofa, armoire with TV, small table and two chairs, patio or balcony, microwave, under-counter refrigerator, coffeemaker, and wet bar. Baths have a single sink, hairdryer, and full-length mirror with a small, separate bath/commode area. A closet holds an iron, ironing board, and crib. Expect to find a bit different decor in the studios with a green and rose quilt-style bedspread.
One-Bedroom Villa
One-Bedroom Villas, at 714 square feet, sleep a maximum of six plus one child under the age of three. Each unit has a small living area with a queen sleeper sofa, reading chair, entertainment center containing a TV/DVD player, booth-style dining table, bar with two stools, and a balcony or patio. A small but adequate kitchen, open to the living area, contains a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, and all utensils, dishes, and pots and pans to make a complete meal. The spacious bedroom, painted in soft green and yellow, holds a king-size bed, armoire with TV, and easy chair.
It adjoins a two-room bath, one holding a whirlpool tub, vanity sink, and walk-in closet with a laptop-size safe, iron, and ironing board, while the other contains a commode (within an enclosure), shower, and an additional freestanding sink. A nice feature is the stacked washer/dryer.
Two-Bedroom Villa
Two-Bedroom Villas sleep a maximum of eight people plus one child age two or younger and offer 1,075 square feet of room. This unit is the same as the one-bedroom with the addition of a studio with either two queen-size beds and a double sinked bath but no wet bar (dedicated unit), or one queen-size bed with a double sofa bed and a single sink bath with wet bar (non-dedicated unit), which adds up to two bedrooms, two baths, living area, kitchen, three TVs, and two balconies or porches.
Three-Bedroom Grand Villa
Three-Bedroom Grand Villas are quite impressive. In fact, they’re the nicest three-bedroom Disney Deluxe Villa Resort units on property. Enter the two-story unit into a lofty living room with floor-to-ceiling windows, sofa, easy chairs, chaise, and entertainment center. Off the living area is a nice-sized kitchen, dining room with balcony, and full bath with single sink and shower only. The king-bedded master offers a armoire with TV, desk, and easy chair, and the master bath has a whirlpool tub, separate shower, and single sink on a golden granite vanity. Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with 2 queen beds and each with a single sink bath and separate toilet/bath area. Between the two bedrooms is a stacked washer and dryer. The unit’s only drawback is the small single balcony off the dining area; a villa this large should come with at least two good size balconies.
Tip: Request a unit in the Congress Park area facing the Downtown Disney® Area.
